Psalm 43
Before morning gets rescued from the grip of the night
I head down to the water toward the call of the Light
My feet find their way slowly to a path I have found
Leading me to a sacred, serene piece of ground
At the edge of the water, there, the first morning rays
Reach the pond’s quiet surface, saturating the grays
Then, a drip from a tree branch hits the liquid below
Making perfect ellipses that continue to grow
Intersecting with bubbles from a fish swimming by
Mixing greens of the water with the blues of the sky
While the world gently brightens, light and water reveal
The truth and the beauty the dark tries to steal
As I witness this magic, my tired spirit uplifts
And I thank my Creator for His marvelous gifts
Always send out your Light, Lord; let your Truth be my guide
In the place of Your dwelling may I always abide
