The Double W Excercise

As promised, here is the second part of How to Get Unstuck. To be fully transparent, even though I’ve been practicing what I preach, I’ve been somewhat stuck lately, which is why this post is appearing almost a month since I published Part 1.

Part 2: Walk

“If I just keep putting one foot in front of the other, it stands to reason that I’m going to get there. I’ve begun to think we sit far more than we’re supposed to.” He smiled. “Why else would we have feet.” – Harold, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry

Just like writing, walking is an act of forward motion. Besides being good for our physical health, it’s great for our mental wellness too. For most of us, walking is an automatic activity and doesn’t require a lot of thinking. That allows our brains a little more freedom and encourages the flow of creativity.

Tony Robbins says, “The fastest way to change your state is not with your mind, it’s with your body. When you do that, you’ll get out of the funk in two minutes.” Motion creates emotion! To read more on the subject, click here:

Next time you find yourself stuck in a funk, remember you’re not alone and then take yourself out for a walk. Try to use all your senses to stay present and notice your surroundings. Your steps will propel you physically (and mentally) forward. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and you’ll get there.
